Google and Microsoft are already making a play to have a big role in making the Semantic Web mainstream. Google have already started to expose semantic data in search results and with the acquisition of Powerset by Microsoft we can see a clear strategic intent.

In the coming years, we will see a revolution in the ability of machines to access, process, and apply information. This revolution will emerge from distinct areas of activity connected to the web as we currently envisage.
